Spooky Tree doodle

My youngest daughter was on the computer in my studio so i was sitting with nothing to do but look at cbbc so i picked an off cut of pastel paper and started to doodle then millie got board of cbbc when the pastels came out so she finished it off with me, the end result was a spooky looking tree.

A few weeks ago i was given a box of Faber castell pastel pencils off a friend of mine Tom 12 colours in all they were colours designed for animal portraits so i thought i would test them out on an old photo off my yorkie who died about ten years ago.

this is one of my familys favourite places for a day trip , Planky mill its in a valley making it a sun trap with a stream running through it there is some nice walks, but we just go for relaxing and the kids like to swim in the steam.

Its done back rounds in, i like both the first one was a lot more loose, but i like the second stage with more detail cant win !!!

Stage 2

Have put more detail in the fur gave it whiskers . just the back ground to put in .really you should put the back ground in first but if some thing goes wrong and your not happy with the cat you would have wasted time and pastel.

Started this Kitten at tuesday art club liked the look of it before i started to rub in and put more detail in so just in case it looks totally different i have scaned it i will do 2 more stages so we can see which one looks the best
